So as I was on my way to work this morning, I was pondering a deep question that has been troubling me recently. And this is it:
Can we see beyond the scars, and make it to the dawn? (pay no attention to the )
Fortunately, the latest song from this blogs favorite artist came on the radio and set my mind righ at ease. Daughtry’s latest song (if it can actually be dubbed this) is called What About Now?, and once again he displays his lyrical prowess with lines like the above question as well as this following bit of genius:
What if our love had never went away?
Now, if you’re musical tastes are such that you not only enjoy listening to a chorus over and over, but also one peppered with the word “baby”, then this song is definitely going to thrill you; in fact, I can confidently say that you were also a fan of “The Reason” by Hoobastank.
I don’t understand how such music continues to be proliferated among us, but there must be some people that just continue to eat it up. And for those of you that just can’t wait to listen to the new song, here’s the perfect link through which you can exit this blog…
The idiocy of some people never ceases to amaze me. Apparently some woman in Oregon has decided that she wants to parade during the fourth of July topless (link to story). It’s ridiculous that the law would actually allow something like this (I’m looking at Ashland, OR), but even more so that someone would make it their personal quest to take advantage of it during what should be a nice family-friendly event.
I understand that some will use the whole “freedom of speech and expression” thing, but that’s no excuse for this blatant stupidity. When did we throw common sense and good taste out the window?
Now, the last thing I have to say about this is that she’s ugly, which no one wants to see in the first place. There is no doubt in my mind about this. And if this statement seems presumptuous, I’m just freely expressing my thoughts.
I’ve been looking for this video for a while now, and I finally found it even though it has a huge watermark across it. It’s the commercial for Verizon Wireless’s Red Hot Deal Days starring none other than the happy ninja himself. Enjoy…
If you haven’t yet heard about the reunion tour of New Kids on the Block,… consider yourself extremely lucky. The members of this band (I shouldn’t even call them a band) must really be tired of ramen noodles and need to do something to earn some money. The mind-boggling thing about it is that they actually will make money doing this. I can’t imagine why anyone would want to pay to see this concert, or try to win them from a radio station for that matter, but just in case you’re even slightly entertaining the thought, here’s a quick fix that should calm your craving:
Now, if you actually made it all the way through this video, you either quarterback the NY Giants or are struggling to “find yourself”. If the video has managed to discourage at least one person from going to this concert then this post has been worth it.
A friend at work told me about this new movie that’s coming out called Tropic Thunder, starring Ben Stiller, Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr. Now, the movie would be worth seeing based solely on the fact that Jack Black and Ben Stiller (in this order) are in it. However, after seeing the movie Iron Man with Robert Downey Jr., I think this movie will just be that much better.
In this movie, Ben Stiller is an action star, Jack Black is a comedic actor and Downey Jr. is the more serious drama type actor. I’ll let you get the premise of the movie from the following trailer, but I’m most looking forward to seeing Downey Jr. play a black man. Take a look:
Now, I don’t really see any downside to this movie which makes me a little leary since I would hate for this to be a movie where all the actually funny parts are in the trailer. I’m going to assume though, that this will not be the case and will therefore give it the following rating: 9/10
UPDATE: There’s one more thing I wanted to add about this movie. Brandon T. Jackson is also in this movie, probably best known for his performance in Cuttin Da Mustard, but it’s his character’s name in Tropic Thunder that I thought was important to share. It’s Alpa Chino.

I was talking with a friend the other day about ESPN and I couldn’t remember the name of one of the anchors so I had to do a little research in order to find the name. Well, I finally did find who I was looking for, and it was Trey Wingo.
Now, if you’ve already clicked on the above link, you probably already know where I’m going to go with this. Apparently, Trey Wingo is not this man’s real name. It seems that his relationship with Stuart Scott goes back further than we thought. His real name is Hal Chapman Wingo III. This leads me to believe that the name Trey actually comes from the fact that he is “the third”, and thus, the trey.
I don’t usually give much thought to people’s names since I’ve seen some really weird ones and they usually don’t choose the names themselves. But he had to give this one some thought. Going by Hal would have been just as easy to say, but no, he chose Trey. The only way I can excuse the man is if ESPN came up with it for him and made him use it, which actually wouldn’t surprise me that much either.
Recently I saw on the news where Obama is telling people to leave his wife alone. I happen to disagree with him on this. If she’s going to actively participate with him on the campaign trail and say some of the things that she said, then she’s fair game for criticism and retorts. Here’s a quick video with commentary about here never being proud to be an American:
And here’s another video that’s worth looking at and thinking about. I’ve heard a little here and there about Obama’s pastor and some of the things he’s said, but this sheds a whole other light on the matter.
In true Bald Monkey fashion, I’ve found an article that is worth featuring here on The Milk Crate. Apparently the state of Arkansas made a slight mistake in one of the bills that was signed into law last year. Anyone of any age, even small children, could get married with parental consent. The law has since been repealed.
Being from Texas, this type of thing doesn’t surprise me coming out of Arkansas. So here’s the full story for your reading pleasure.
If you run your own blog or have your own website, at some point you’ve had to consider the style and design of the site. If you’re thinking about starting some sort of website, the style and design should be something that you consider up front. And this is exactly what the subject of one blog is.
Stylishdesign.com is a web development related blog that aims to help others with these issues. Their articles can help you keep up on some of the relevant topics associated with web development.
Since the blog is about style and development, it’s only natural that I would look at the design of it to see if the information was credible. The site has a relatively simple design and layout, nothing really extravagant. It is a relatively new blog though, noticing that the archives go back to February.
Now, I do have one critique of the site. The current article on the site says that “[a] website must be well developed and designed, not under construction,….” and so on. The About page of the site however, happens to still say that it’s an example of a Wordpress page. In other words, it’s under construction. The sidebars are also in the middle of this page. I would definitely suggest making sure that all parts of the site are well presented, especially if the site is about style, design, and development.
